Martha C. Nussbaum is currently the Ernst Freund Distinguished Service Professor of Law and Ethics at the University of Chicago. Professor Nussbaum is well-known for her work on the capabilities approach (an alternative approach to welfare economics) and a leading voice in the debate on global justice, feminism, ethics (including animal rights) and emotions. Her publications include ‘The Fragility of Goodness’ (1986) and ‘Political Emotions. Why Love Matters For Justice’ (2013).
