Student jobs on campus

Do you want to earn some extra money? Hasselt University offers various student jobs within the institution throughout the year, so be sure to register in good times via your digital student file if you are interested. You will receive regular job ads by email. Do you have scholarship student status? Then we will try to give you priority in order to give you an extra fincancial boost. As a student, you are allowed to work 50 days per calendar year, which can be spread however you like throughout the year and between different employers. That way, you only pay a minimum amount of social security.

Where possible, foreign students can also be given student jobs at Hasselt. Non-EEA students who want to work in Belgium must be in possesion for a work permit. During the academic holidays, this work permit requirement ceases to apply. Foreign students from EEA countries or Switzeerland have the same rights and obligations as Belgian students. For more information about applying for a work permit, click here or go to the municipal or town hall of the place where you are staying.

Jobstudentensysteem JOS

The JOS database contains jobs for students, regardless of where they live or study. Visit the JOS website (via the student file!).

JOS consists of two sections: the information section, in which more details about your rights and obligations as a student can be found under 'Info studentenarbeid' and 'model contract'; and the database, which gives you access to student jobs and can be found under 'Vind een job'.

External student jobs

Jobs for students submitted by companies or organisations are displayed on the notice boards.
