Computational Mathematics

Universiteit Hasselt - Knowledge in action

Two PhD vacancies are available at the Faculty of Sciences of the Hasselt  University, the Computational Mathematics group. The research work is on mathematical modelling and upscaling of multi-scale processes like flow and chemical reactions taking place in porous media and will be carried out within the Odysseus grant DynScale funded by the FWO. For an abstract of the project please, check here.

We seek two PhD students working on the mathematical modelling, numerical simulation and the upscaling of different processes in porous media. The candidates have a MSc (or will graduate soon) in mathematics or similar disciplines, but with strong mathematical background and are interested in doing research in applied and numerical mathematics, in particular the mathematical modelling, upscaling and numerical simulation of processes involving multiple scales.

More details can be found here and here

Interested candidates can only apply online (see the links above) up to and including 30 November 2016.
