HCI - 3D interaction and haptic feedback
![]() |
Multimodal interaction paradigms and techniques are designed, developed and (formally) evaluated. This includes investigating how different combinations of devices and (or) modalities can intuitively be used to perform specific tasks. Extensive know-how on haptic interaction has been built over the years. Bimanual interaction exploiting proprioception was a topic in several user experiments. On the one hand, the research in this area considers generic tasks in 3D or virtual environments, such as selection, manipulation and navigation. On the other hand, domain-specific interaction solutions are designed and investigated. Examples here are exercises and games for upper limb training of MS- and stroke patients (Interreg Rehabilitation Robotics), and haptic interaction with medical images (IBBT Segmentor).
