The Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) was founded in 2003 and is therefore the second youngest research institute of the Hasselt University. By combining research and education activities, IMOB works on sustainable solutions for problems within domains of transportation, road safety, behavior, road design, tourism and autonomy.
IMOB currently has about 50 permanent staff members of which the majority is employed as researcher, Ph.D. student or teaching assistant. Support is offered by 4 administrative staff members, the Marketing & Communication department (3 staff members) and 5 ICT specialists. They are all under the supervision of 5 professors.
Furthermore, about 10 guest employees are affiliated to the institute.
The Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) is continuously in motion. We realize projects both on national and international level. With the video down below, we would like to take you on a trip through the projects that we've finalized or are currently working on.
