COST (the European Cooperation in Science & Technology) is a European programme supporting the coordination of European research networks, so called COST Actions. It is a unique means for European researchers, engineers and scholars to jointly develop their own ideas and new initiatives across all fields of science and technology through European networking of nationally funded research activities.
COST does not fund research itself, but covers ‘networking activities’ such as meetings, conferences, short-term scientific exchanges, publications, dissemination activities. A COST action is a good preparation for future Horizon 2020 applications.
During an internal information session, the Research Coordination Office and our two UHasselt speakers want to give you more insight in this programme, the application process and the evaluation procedure.
- ‘Brief introduction to COST’ (Leen Lambrechts - Research Coordination Office)
- ‘Experience with COST’ (prof. Wouter Schroeyers - Chair of the COST Action ‘Norm4Building’)
- ‘Evaluation process + Tips & tricks’ (prof. Ansar Yasar - Technical Expert COST)
Researchers from all research disciplines wanting to extend and/or strengthen their EU-research network, researchers who are preparing a COST Action, support staff.
The information session takes place on Monday 3 October, starts at 14h30 and ends at +/- 16h15.
Hasselt University, Campus Diepenbeek – Room A54
This information session is free of charge, but please register online
