After finishing his Bachelor in Chemistry at Hasselt University (Belgium), where he graduated with Honors, Tom Cardeynaels went to Eindhoven University of Technology (The Netherlands) to study Chemical Engineering. He performed his graduation research in the group of Prof. dr E.W. Meijer and Dr A.R.A. Palmans on supramolecularly self-assembling polymers with catalytic properties. He finished his Master with a 4 months research stay at DSM Waalwijk and graduated with High Honors. Currently, he is working as a PhD student in the DSOS group on novel fluorescent and electroluminescent materials showing thermally activated delayed fluorescence with potential applications in organic light emitting diodes and bio-imaging.
