This doctoral project investigates the multi-ethnic occupational community of railway teams in Infrabel. Developing the notions of occupational community, work conditions and multi-ethnic workgroup and conducting an ethnography study, will allow us to understand, on one hand, how the intersection of occupational norms and ethnic identities, as competing bases of identification, affect the functioning of the multi-ethnic occupational community and, on the other hand, how this functioning socially and professionally affect ethnic minority employees.
