Since Poland joined the European Union, more and more Poles have settled in Flanders. Still, little is known about this growing community. In the past, substantial research effort has been devoted to the traditional immigrant groups and/or their offspring, namely Moroccans and Turks. To date no figures are available about the participation of Poles in associations, their proficiency in Dutch, their experiences of discriminations, their trust in institutions, … etc. This project will provide these figures by means of a face-to-face survey among Polish descendants living in Antwerp.
