Academic Search Elite
offers full text for more than 2,000 journals, including more than 1,500
peer-reviewed titles. This multi-disciplinary database covers
virtually every area of academic study. More than 100 journals have
PDF images back to 1985.
BioMed Central's portfolio of 176 journals includes
general titles such as Journal of Biology alongside specialist
journals (e.g. BMC Bioinformatics, Malaria Journal) that focus on
particular disciplines . All the research published by BioMed
Central's journals is open access, but BioMed Central also provides
access to various additional products and services that require a
subscription.
Blackwell Synergy has been incorporated in Wiley, another
major scientific publisher. See below.
Business Source Premier is a
business research database, providing full text for more than 2,300
journals, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed
titles.

Citebase is
currently only an experimental demonstration of a citation database
for open access documents. Users are cautioned
not to use it for academic evaluation yet. Citation coverage and
analysis is incomplete and hit coverage and analysis is both
incomplete and noisy.
Directory of Open
Access Journals covers free, full text, quality controlled
scientific and scholarly journals for all subjects and languages. (containing

EBSCOhost
is a global entry to the different EBSCOhost databases: Academic
Search Elite, Business Source Premier, EJS, Eric, Regional Business
News, MLA.
EJS: Find article-level

Elsevier
- Science Direct offers more than a quarter of the world's
scientific, medical and technical information online. UHasselt has
access to nearly 2000 peer-reviewed journals on this platform.
ERIC, the Educational
Resource Information Center, contains more than 2,200 digests along
with references for additional information and citations and
abstracts from over 1,000 educational and education-related journals.
EconLit, published by the American Economic Association,
provides bibliographic coverage of a wide range of economics-related
literature. EconLit covers both economic theory and application.
Google Scholar
provides a simple way to broadly search for scholarly literature.
From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources:
peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles, from
academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories,
universities and other scholarly organizations.

statistical data that provides a systematic, objective way to

MathSciNet
is an electronic publication offering access to a carefully
maintained and easily searchable database of reviews, abstracts and
bibliographic information for much of the mathematical sciences
literature (> 2 million items).
Mediargus
On the campus you have access to the archives of seven Flemish
newspapers and a few general journals with an embargo of 2
days.
MLA Directory of Periodicals
offers detailed information on over 7,100 journals, with 4,400
currently indexed in the International Bibliography. The detailed
entries include editorial contact information, as well as frequency,
circulation, subscription prices and submission guidelines.
MLA International Bibliography
MLA (Modern Language Association of America) International
Bibliography contains bibliographic files
concerning literature, languages, linguistics and folklore.
OAIster is a
union catalog of digital resources.
We provide access to these digital resources by "harvesting" their
descriptive metadata (records) using
OAI-PMH (the Open
Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting).
PubMed
grants access to bibliographic
information, mainly from MEDLINE, PreMEDLINE, Healthstar and
citations supplied by publishers.

provides comprehensive full text
coverage for regional business publications. Regional Business News
incorporates coverage of 75 business journals, newspapers and
newswires from all metropolitan and rural areas within the United

Scirus is a
science-specific search engine on the Internet developed by Elsevier.
Scirus searches over 415 million science-specific Web pages,
enabling you to quickly Pinpoint scientific, scholarly, technical
and medical data on the Web and find the latest reports,
peer-reviewed articles, patents, pre prints and journals.
Sociological Abstracts If you want to search a database with references
to sociological journal articles and books.
Web of Knowledge (WoK) The Web
of Knowledge is the new interface that provides access to the Web of
Science (including ISI Proceedings)
and Journal Citation Reports (JCR).
Web of Science (WoS) Web interface that provides
access to the Arts & Humanities Citation
Index, the Science Citation Index Expanded and the Social Sciences Citation Index.
Since October 2008 Web of Science contains proceedings of
international conferences, symposia, seminars, colloquia, workshops,
and conventions since 1990.
Wiley
Interscience
One of the most important scientific publishers, surely after the
acquisition of Blackwell this year. De database contains about 1800
journals. 1100 titles are available at Hasselt University.
Zentralblatt
MATH Database A database with references
to mathematical journal articles and books. The electronic
counterpart for Zentralblatt für Mathematik / Mathematics Abstracts on paper.
