Title
Understanding and improving the interpretability of process mining outputs (Research)
Abstract
Process mining is a research domain that focuses on gathering insights into work process by analyzing process execution data recorded in information systems. To date, the majority of research efforts develop new methods to extract specific insights regarding a work process in a (semi-)automated manner from data. However, limited knowledge exists regarding the interpretability of the output generated by process mining methods. Consequently, this doctoral project aims to better understand and enhance the interpretability of process mining output for users. By taking into account the acquired insights regarding interpretability, the representation of process mining output can be enhanced. To this end, the research will also bridge the gap between process mining and other domains such as visual analytics.
