INTERREG TRANS TECH DIAGNOSTICS WORKSHOP: OPEN TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM FOR ADVANCED EV CARGO ANALYSIS

Date: Thursday 6 february 2020
Location: H5, Building D, Hasselt University, campus Diepenbeek, Belgium

Trans Tech Diagnostics (TTD) is an Interreg project of the Grensregio Vlaanderen-Nederland.

TTD is focusing on the translation of biomedical innovation in Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) of the participating Universities (UM lead partner; UHasselt) and expertise centers (VITO) towards clinical applications in collaboration with industrial partners (TSG InnoteQ BV; Bonné+Jan; DSP Vallay; PimBio; Tenco DDM; De Keuze Architecten; Black Dropper Biodrucker; Fox Biosystems).

At Hasselt University, BIOMED invested in the construction of an open technology platform (OTP) that allows the controlled isolation, characterization and cargo analysis of inflammation associated biomarkers and more specifically those that are present in Extracellular Vesicles (EV). Detection of chronic inflammation is an important diagnostic tool for several chronic diseases such as CVD. This OTP was financial supported by Hasselt University, Interreg EFRO and Province of BE-Limburg.

During this workshop, the constructed OTP at Biomed is presented and different applications will be highlighted that illustrate the potential value of this EV dedicated analysis platform.
