This newsletter provides an overview of all upcoming activities for PhD students organized by the doctoral schools, links to other potentially interesting events or information, and relevant calls.

More details on, and registration links for, upcoming activities are available on the websites of the doctoral schools. When you enrol for a doctoral school activity, please make sure to be present. You are allowed to cancel your enrolment up to 1 week before the activity by sending an email to doctoralschools@uhasselt.be. In case of no-show or cancellation later than 1 week before the activity, a fee of 250 euros can be charged. Details

13. Modules on education

Most modules on education are organized in a demand-driven way by the Department educational excellence, professionalization and diversity. This means that instructors/professors can 'order' a tailor-made workshop on a specific topic for a specific group of interested people. However, they also have a limited open course offer. These open courses are announced by e-mail, as well as in this newsletter.

14. Flanders Training Network for Methodology and Statistics (FLAMES)

Courses on statistics and methodology, which take place throughout the academic year at all Flemish universities. The courses organized at Hasselt University are listed in this newsletter and on the DS website; the others can be found on the FLAMES website.

2. Testing Grammarly premium?

Do you use 'Grammarly' and do you want to test 'Grammarly premium'?
Currently we have a some free accounts available to test Grammarly premium. If you are interested, please send an email to doctoralschools@uhasselt.be in which you mention your faculty, before March 20, 2020. What we ask from you is to test the premium version and provide us with some feedback on the potential added value of this version as compared to the freely available version.

3. Schedule meeting with coordinator

For questions related to the DS requirements, DS portfolio, course offer, ... you may schedule a meeting with one of the coordinators of the DS. Single or simple questions may be asked by email, but for multiple questions this is the preferred approach.
