Prof.dr.arch. Mark Olweny is associate dean of the Faculty of the Built Environment of Uganda Martyrs University. Over the past years, sustainability and environmental design have become an essential part of the curriculum and were the main focus of many research projects of the Faculty of the Built Environment.
Environmental challenges in Uganda
Arch. Achilles Ahimbisibwe is lecturer at the Faculty of the Built Environment of Uganda Martyrs University. He was involved in several research projects on sustainable technologies and construction practices for East Africa and Uganda.
Effect of the built environment on the development of children
Dr.arch. Nerea Amorós Elorduy is an architect and researcher with expertise in designing and building sustainable, educational and health projects in East Africa and currently based in Kampala, Uganda. In her research, she focusses on the effect of the built environment on human development and on the relationship between early childhood development and the physical space.
Dr.arch. Assumpta Nnaggenda-Musana is lecturer at in the Department of Architecture and Physical Planning, in the College of Engineering, Design, Art and Technology, at Makerere University, the oldest and largest public university in Uganda.
