Dr. Bert Conings nominated for "Innovators under 35 Europe" Jun 19, 2017
The MIT Technology Review Belgium is looking for the most remarkable technology entrepreneurs and researchers all over Belgium, with the objective of awarding innovation, ingenuity and advances toward the world's most pressing challenges.
This year, the community has gone one step further by compiling a pool of the top 35 profiles in Europe which will be recognized Innovators Under 35 Europe for 2017 during the award ceremony on September 14th in Paris.
Bert Conings joined, after obtaining his Phd degree, the IMO-IMOMEC Nanostructure Physics group led by Prof. dr. Hans-Gerd Boyen where he specialized in photoelectron spectroscopy. In 2013, he became a postdoctoral fellow of the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO), and he was a scientific visitor in the group of Henry Snaith (University of Oxford) in 2016 for six months.
Bert his core focus is perovskite photovoltaics, both on the device level and the material level. More generally, his interests include the electro-optical characterization of nanostructured materials for applications in energy and life sciences.
