Dionex DX-120 equipped with a spectrophotometer and conductivity detector
Ion chromatography is a chromatographic analytical technique suitable for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of inorganic and organic cations and anions in water solutions at the ppm-ppb level. Principle of separation is ion exchange between a ion exchange column (stationary phase) and a mobile phase (buffer solution e.g. Na2CO3 15 mM). The Dionex ionchromatograph uses a suppressor column in combination with the analytical column for reaching a low obtaining to enhance sensitivity.
This separation technique is suitable for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of cations and anions in water samples.
Typical applications
- Migration studies for pharmaceutical rubbers, micro electronic material, packaging materials.
- Analysis of process water, waste water, cleaning solutions.
- Determination of trace levels of S, P, halogens after combustion in a Parr bomb.
