ISTEC 2019 aims to bring together leading academic scientists, research scholars, students and practioners to exchange and share their experiences and research results on all aspects of Transportation in the South. It also provides an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends, and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in this fields.
 
The selected themes for the 2019 ISTEC symposium are:

ISTEC 2019 is organised by the Transportation Research Institute (IMOB) – Hasselt University and supported by VLIR UOS. The conference will take place at Hasselt University, Hasselt, Belgium on Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 November 2019.
 
Call for abstracts - deadline 1 July 2019
 
The call for abstracts in online now, the deadline to submit your (max. 500 word) abstract through the istec2019.org website is 1 July 2019. 
 
VLIR UOS travel and accomodation grants for selected participants
 
The registration fee for ISTEC 2019 is €75 and includes lunches and a conference dinner. To support participants to cover costs a number of travel & accomodation grants will be made available. The selection will be made based on the quality of the submitted abstract. These grants provided by VLIR UOS will amount to of max. €1.000 per person. Only candidates from the VLIR UOS country list are eligble (https://www.vliruos.be/en/countries/96). The costs of transport, accomodation and registration needs to be proven by the selected candidates and will be reimbursed to the participants upon actual participation in the ISTEC2019. Any additional costs needs to be covered by own means.
