Do you want to contribute to improve the air quality in Hasselt? Mar 14, 2017
Did you know that …
… pollution in cities decreases the life expectancy of their citizens by two years.
… air pollutants such as ozone can damage the lungs and heart in a similar fashion as smoking does.
… your help is useful to reduce the negative effects of air pollutants.
How can you help?
Within the iSCAPE project, we implement and test smart solutions for reducing the negative effects of air pollution. These solutions aim to change the activity-pattern of the citizens by offering customized guidance, and to improve the air quality with this behavioural intervention.
The study is carried out in six European cities, including Hasselt. In order to see whether these solutions are effective, we need your help!
You are expected to …
- use an Android smartphone.
- take the device with you to record your travel behaviour and exposure to air pollutants.
- continue doing this for at least three weeks.
