Info session Research Infrastructures: FWO & EU Research Infrastructure funding possibilities – 14 March 2019 31 jan 2019
Information session Research Infrastructures: FWO calls medium-scale and large-scale research infrastructure & EU Research Infrastructure funding possibilities – 14 March 2019, 2.30 PM
The Research Coordination Office organizes an information session on the FWO call for medium-scale & large-scale research infrastructures that will open in March 2019 as well as EU funding opportunities for research infrastructures (H2020/ European Research Infrastructure including e-Infrastructures etc.). In this session the FWO & EU rules for participation, application modalities and evaluation processes of the different programmes will be explained.
As a reminder, research infrastructure comprises all facilities and sources that promote the performance of cross-border and strategic basic research across all scientific disciplines. Besides scientific infrastructure, this includes collections, natural habitats, corpora and databases (including digital opening up). FWO makes a distinction between medium-scale and large-scale research infrastructure depending on the total cost:
- Min. € 150.000 – Max. € 1.000.000 (incl. VAT)= Medium-scale research infrastructure
- Min. € 1.000.000 (incl. VAT) = Large-scale research infrastructure
We would also like to remind you that an important feature of the FWO infrastructure calls is that interfaculty- and -university collaboration is vital for the success of the application. Synergies amongst different UHasselt research teams as well as joint efforts and interdisciplinary approaches that demonstrate the mutual use of infrastructures and highlight the ‘research infrastructure platform’ character are particularly welcomed and likely to obtain a higher scoring.
For us to be competitive, recently staff member Raphaela Delahaye started at the Research Coordination Office to assist researchers in their search to extend partnerships and grants for infrastructures with other Flemish, Belgian, European partners.
