UHasselt supports you if you visit the campus by using a bicycle or public transport:
All students receive a 50% grant for a train ticket (2nd class) of 3 or 12 months for the trip from their place of residence or hotel to UHasselt. This operates via a third-party payment system. As a student, you register all your data for this through your digital student file. Afterwards, you will receive a certificate from the Belgian Railways (NMBS/SCNB) which will enable you to purchase your subscription from the NMBS/SCNB. This also applies to combined NMBS/SCNB and De Lijn subscriptions.
As a UHasselt student, you can buy a “De Lijn” campus pass at the student facilities for € 20 through your student file. The campus passes are available at the student desks in Hasselt and Diepenbeek. This campus pass is valid for an entire academic year. This means that you can travel by bus in the Hasselt and Diepenbeek regions without any restrictions. If you have a De Lijn subscription, you can apply for a financial contribution of 50%. You can download the application form from your digital student file.
At VEDO you can rent a bike for free, after a payment of €70 deposit. You have to book a bike online at citybike.uhasselt.be in advance. In the bicycle workshop you can have your rented bike and your own bike repaired at a student rate.
