We are always actively looking for partnerships with businesses and institutions with state-of-the-art challenges in the field of data analysis and event analytics. We are happy to discuss the options for collaboration with you (for more information on any of these options, please contact Ilse Cretskens). In addition, our PhD researchers are also actively looking for real-life case studies and datasets to validate their research and at the same time helping businesses with their data challenges. This is a win-win situation for both parties.

For a list of our ongoing and finalised projects, please see this link.

Short-term Projects

Proof-of-concept project

Short projects to try out some new technology. Some experiments, typically as a first exploration of new technology.

Student Internship

Internships are the most intensive educational cooperation between a company and a student. An internship is a unique learning moment for a student and a perfect opportunity for the company to be inspired. An interesting professional case can be scientifically analysed by the student. The internship is performed during the second master year. More information can be found here (in dutch). Call for projects in May.

Research & Innovation projects

Anything from a demo, prototype up to the development of a Minimum Viable Data Product. Executed by a team of academic researchers. Can be requested at any time and execution can typically start quickly after request.

For short-term projects (a few months) the VLAIO (Vlaams Agentschap Innoveren & Ondernemen) provides a platform for funding and advising research and innovation projects.

Long-term Projects

A long-term R&D project is a project in which we research new technologies in the context of a specific organisation.

A project qualifies as a R&D project if three conditions are fulfilled:
1. The main focus is innovation
2. The innovation has some related uncertainties
3. Research is required to validate some contentions, hypotheses.

A PhD student will be assigned to this project. The student will be active on-premise, under academic supervision.

For long-term projects (3 to 4 years) the VLAIO provides grants for projects with junior researchers as well as senior researchers. More information can be found via the following links.
