Next Wednesday, 6 March, Hasselt University will be organizing a new edition of the World Evening. From 5 PM you have the chance to meet students and staff from the whole world!

Promising program

After nine years, the World Evening still sticks to its original goal:  an entertaining and friendly moment between international students and staff. Students from all horizons will introduce you to their culture and traditions through self-prepared appetizers, typical clothing and special workshops. More than 200 people are expected at the annual World Evening, and the program for this year is again very promising:

5 – 7 PM: Eat & Meet:
Appetizers prepared by international students/staff
(Wintergarden + restaurant)
7 – 8 PM: Choice between different workshops:
  • Yoga
  • Kids session
  • Henna
  • Ebru
  • Salsa
  • Djembé 
  • Knitting
  • Crochet
  • Macramé
8 – 9 PM: Fraternization:
  • Djembé show
  • Speech by Prof. dr. L. De Schepper, Rector Hasselt University
  • Announcement winner Cook & Win
  • Dessert & Turkish tea- & Ethiopian coffee ceremony


Cook, taste & win!

For the first time, we will be organizing the “Cook & Win” contest on 6 March. Participants will present their traditional dishes and everyone can vote for their favourite country in terms of food. The winning country shall choose and name one dish that will be served in the campus restaurants by Horeservi.
