Centre for Statistics (CENSTAT) : project R-6244

Title : The analysis of RNA-Seq data by using generalized linear models with normal and conjugate random effects (R-6244)
Abstract: The project aims at adapting generalized linear models with normal and conjugate random effects for the analysis of RNA-Seq data. In particular, the models allow for overdispersion, which is one of the important features of the distribution of RNA Seq counts. Additionally, the models allow for introduction of the higher level random effects, which opens the possibility of addressing the issue of clustering of the RNA Seq counts. The models will allow proper analysis of RNA Seq data originating from complex experiments involving, e.g., sample matching. The validity of the results obtained by using the models is investigated by using real life data and simulation studies.
Period of project : 1/10/2015to31/12/2017
