Hasselt University's headquarter is in the Old Prison (Oude Gevangenis) on Hasselt Campus. This building on Martelarenlaan in Hasselt is the location where the BSTE 2019 meeting will take place.

Getting to Hasselt campus

Public transport - By train

From Antwerp, Bruges, Brussels, Ghent, Leuven and Liège, there are direct connections to Hasselt every hour, seven days a week. More information can be found on the website of the Belgian National Railway Company (NMBS/SNCB): www.nmbs.be.

From the entrance of Hasselt Station, you can take a taxi or the bus to Kolonel Dusartplein. From Kolonel Dusartplein, you can walk to Hasselt Campus.

A taxi from Hasselt Station to Kolonel Dusartplein costs about €5.00. Follow the signs to 'Faculteit Rechten - Universiteit Hasselt'.

Regular fast bus services stop in front of Hasselt Station (services 45, Boulevardpendel, 23, 18a, 180,…). Get off at the 'Kolonel Dusartplein' stop. The bus journey from the station to Dusartplein takes about 8 minutes. More information is available from De Lijn Limburg (www.delijn.be). There is also an information office in Stationsplein.

By car

Hasselt is easily reached via the E313 (exit 27, 28 and 29) and E314 (exit 29) motorways. There are numerous car parks in and around the city centre. You can leave the car on the outskirts of the town and finish your journey by bus. Near Hasselt Campus (under Kolonel Dusartplein) there is a pay car park, which can be reached via Koning Boudewijnlaan or Maastrichtersteenweg. At the end of Maastrichtersteenweg, turn right onto the Kleine Ring. After 100 m, you will see the entrance to the car park. Free parking is available close to Hasselt Campus on Vilderstraat and Koning Boudewijnlaan.

Park & Ride: Alverberg: free parking (303), bus 'H8' to station and Grote Markt.

Free parkings: Vildersstraat (200), Mouttoren (200), Kolenkaai (100), Truierbrug zuid (150) and Cultureel Centrum (320).

Parking garages (paying): Kolonel Dusartplein (800 spaces – near Hasselt campus), Molenpoort (420), TT-wijk (520) and Luikersteenweg (250). Information about the parking garages can be found at https://www.hasselt.be/nl/betaald-parkeren.
