This one-year programme is tailored to the students' academic track record and is offered in all three specializations of the Master of Statistics. It is available in the on-campus and the distance learning track, as well as for work students.
The shortened programme is quite an intensive programme, that can be completed in one full academic year by excellent and highly motivated students. An indicative example of the shortened programma, for each of the three specializations, is available in this overview.
Students that have already acquired a quantitative master (mathematics, (bio) engineering, ...) or a PhD degree that included a solid initial training in statistics, can apply for a shortened programme of about 67 ECTS. The Admission Board decides whether a student is allowed to the shortened programme. The Examination Board defines the tailormade programme for the student.
There is no special admission procedure for the one-year track, so the standard timing and regulations for admission apply. The Admission Board checks by default whether an applicant is eligible for this shortened study programme. When a student is allowed to the one-year track, the notification will be included in the communication on the admission result.
