Worldevening

The World Evening is a festive evening where students will prepare foods from a variety of cultures and regions, bringing the spirit of internationalism to us through cuisine. International entertainment will also be planned so that guests can enjoy traditional songs and dance. This evening aims to connect all members of the university, both students and staff, and other interested parties, with the world close to home.

The next edition of the world evening will take place on 23 November 2022 (17.00 - 21.00) in your calendar!

The entrance price is 5 euros per person if you register and pay before 16 November (and 10 euros on 23rd of November itself). This includes food (a lot of food) and a drink.

You'll need to register beforehand. Don't hesitate, to register as soon as possible via the link below.

Do you want to get involved?

Every year students from more than 20 countries prepare delicious appetizers from their home countries. Would you like to share your culinary culture as well? Please register through this form.
Do you want to present your country through music and singing? You can do a KARAOKE in your language. Please see more information and register through this form.
Do you want to present your country through dancing, games, presentations, a fashion show, or in any other creative way? Please let us know via email!
We are always looking for volunteers for the general organization of the event. Interested?

There is a World cup match at 20 PM on that day. Will I miss it?

No worries! We will provide a big screen.

You can join us on World evening from 17 to 20 to enjoy international meals and music. Then you can watch the football match with your friends on the wintertuin from 20 to 22 pm.

How much will UHasselt contribute for cooking?

We refund the purchases for a maximum of 200 euros per country/group. Please keep all original tickets and receipts (not handwritten and with mention of the purchased ingredients), otherwise we can’t pay you back.

After you submit the online form, you’ll receive the document ‘schuldvordering’: you can fill it in and bring it back, along with the invoices/receipts, to the student administration or on the event itself.
