Hasselt University and GreenVille organise the doctoral seminar Transformation of energy systems: challenges, technologies and experiences in Germany. Two top speakers of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE (Germany) will give their vision on this topic.

Speakers
With a staff of above 1200, Fraunhofer ISE is the largest solar energy research institute in Europe. The work at the Institute ranges from the investigation of scientific and technological fundamentals for solar energy applications, through the development of production technology and prototypes, to the construction of demonstration systems.
Mr. Gerhard Stryi-Hipp is Head of Energy Policy, Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems and President of the European Technology Platform on Renewable Heating and Cooling.
Dr.-Ing. Christof Wittwer is Head of the department Smart Grids, division Electrical Energy Systems, of Fraunhofer ISE.
Target group
The doctoral seminar targets PhD students working on clean tech topics and master students (engineering and economics).
