Being in solidarity with others is what the Warmest Week is all about! Behaving in a safe way when you are in traffic, is a great example of such solidarity. At the Transportation Research Institute, we like to promote the use of public transport, cycling and walking, but we cannot get around it: the car still plays a major role in our daily lives.
Driving defensively and following traffic rules as much as possible is an excellent way to promote road safety. But we want to go a step further by offering a skid course. Are you a novice driver or an experienced driver? Everyone benefits from learning to maintain full control of the vehicle in any situation.
Support our Warmest Week initiative and get the chance to win a skid course, organised by Promove ,worth €195 and an extra 'safety' goody bag offered by IMOB.
The programme of the skidcourse (3.5h) is as follows:
- Reception and registration (15 minutes)
- Welcome and introductory film (15 minutes)
- Practical session on closed practice area (2.5 hours)
- steering and viewing techniques
- dodging unforeseen obstacles on slippery road surfaces
- braking technique and emergency braking
- Debriefing and evaluation (15 minutes)
How to participate? You register to our promotion via the link below and donate €5. Your registration will be valid if we receive your payment by Wednesday 13 December. On 14 December, one winner will be drawn from all participants. The winner gets to choose the date and location of the slip course from a calendar afterwards.
Kind regards,
The IMOB team
