Protein structures are classically obtained via methods such as x-ray crystallography.
However, these methods remove molecules from their natural environment and often lead to artifacts.

Therefore, the Dynamic Bioimaging Lab explores single molecule fluorescence methods to investigate structure-function relations of biomolecules in a physiologically relevant context.
