What?

Interreg North-West Europe (NWE) is a European Territorial Cooperation Programme funded by the European Commission with the ambition to make the North-West Europe area a key economic player and an attractive place to work and live, with high levels of innovation, sustainability and cohesion. It invests EUR 370 million of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in activities based on the cooperation of organisations from eight countries: Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Interreg North-West Europe has opened its first call for proposals for the 2021-2027 programming period. This call will close on Wednesday 15 June at noon.


Interreg NWE is looking for transnational cooperation initiatives that can deliver concrete results for the North-West Europe area. If you have an idea that could make one of the programme objectives a reality, get in touch with one of the contact points and start developing your proposal. 

The priorities are:
1: Climate and evironment
2: Energy transition
3: Circular economy
4: innovation and resilience
5: Inclusive society

There is no specific budget for this call. Additionally, the duration of the project can vary depending on the workplan. However, all projects must be completed by 30 June 2029. The project starting date is February 2023. 

Who?

Participating project partners can be any public or private organisation that are legal entities. A project should involve a variety of partner types in line with the target groups specified for the respective specific objective. 

For all objectives, the involvement of the following type of partners is considered to be of significant importance:
- Local, regional and national public authorities
- The research sector (both public and private)
- SMEs and business support organisations
- Sectoral associations, NGOs, lobby organisations and citizen groups

Application?

This call will unfold in two steps, with a lighter application form to be filled in for step 1 focusing mainly on the project need, objective, partnership relevance. The deadline for step 1 is on June 15th. After this application is approved, a more detailed application needs to be filled in for step 2, including the complete work plan and budget. The deadline for step 2 is in December.
