What?
The BOF Sabbatical Leave programme cofinances outgoing international research stays for periods of 3 to 12 months, starting in 2025. The BOF funds for the Sabbatical Leave are intended to support a successful externally funded application (FWO, VLIR chairs abroad, ….). This implies that additional costs for accommodation and similar expenses (which cannot be claimed from the external funder) can be applied for in the BOF-application. The costs for replacing the ZAP member in the faculty are not eligible. For applications submitted on the deadline of October 1 the stay can start at the earliest from January onwards.
Who?
- ZAP member of Hasselt University (TT assistant professors and ZAP-members) with a minimum employment of 60%;
- Approved application for external funding (FWO or other) is required;
- Positive advice from the discipline group (vakgroepraad) and faculty board is required;
- The stay must be part of the scientific research within the researcher’s research group/institute/centre.
- The scientific added value of the Sabbatical Leave must be motivated.
