Lunch lecture by Gie Goris
Everything is always more prominent in India: the population, the economy, the ambitions, the poverty and the impact of climate change. From April 19th until June 4th, India will have the most significant democratic elections ever, with 969 million eligible voters. News or serious analysis of this giant of the 21st century remains scarce in our media, in which India is often reduced to a few exotic clichés.
For over 30 years, Gie Goris worked as a journalist and editor-in-chief of MO* magazine. South Asia has been one of the focal points of his journalism. In this lunch lecture, he will shed light on India as a rising superpower that will be indispensable for a stable world order, for the global economy and for tackling cross-border ecological challenges.
