a prestigious award for prof.dr. Tim Vanmierlo
Prof. dr. Tim Vanmierlo, MS researcher at Hasselt University and Maastricht University, acquires the Global Grant for Multiple Sclerosis Innovation (GMSI). An award, reached out by the pharmaceutical company Merck with a value of 250.000 euro. The team of professor Vanmierlo investigates why repair processes fail in MS patients with a progressive form of the disease.
“This price is a nice confirmation of the hard work my team is performing at Hasselt University as well as Maastricht University.”, says prof. dr. Tim Vanmierlo. “This research grant is a boost for our research, in which we would like to stimulate the repair of the isolating protecting layer around the nerves."
