This workshop introduces junior researchers to the applications of deep learning for improving road safety. Organized in collaboration with Vitronic Middle East, the event offers participants the opportunity to learn directly from industry experts and academics. Participants will gain hands-on experience in handling real-world road safety data, developing deep learning models, and addressing privacy in traffic analytics.
The workshop will take place on 16 and 17 December 2025 in room FR 1.11 (Martelarenlaan 42, 3500 Hasselt) at Hasselt University, Belgium. This workshop is organised by IMOB-Hasselt University PhD researcher Satria Bagus Wicaksono, under supervision of Prof. dr. ir. Ansar Yasar.
A highlight of the workshop is the mini-datathon, where participants work in teams to design and present AI-based solutions to real-world safety challenges. The program also includes lectures on privacy and communication of AI research to policymakers and the broader public.
