Abstract submissions for papers are now open!

Abstract submission

Abstract submission are open on January 8th, 2024 and will close on March 22nd, 2024.

You can submit your abstract for oral or poster presentation below. The abstract should be max 250 words.
All accepted and registered abstracts will be published in the conference abstract book.
The Conference Abstract Book will be available on the conference website. Submission should be submitted before March 22nd.

In the abstract submission form, please indicate the format in which you would like to present your work:

  • Oral Presentation
  • Poster Presentation

Students presenting have the possibility to compete for the Best GEOMED 2024 Student Presentation and the Best GEOMED 2024 Poster Presentation.

A notification will be sent out on April 12th, 2024 to the acceptees of the contributed talks and posters.

Travel grant

The Data Science Institute will provide up to two travel grants to support students who have no other means of financial support. These travel grants will include:

  • student registration fee for the GEOMED conference,
  • registration for short-course
  • participation in the GEOMED conference dinner
  • refund of travel and accommodation costs (based upon presenting receipts) up to 800 EUR.

To apply for a student travel grant, the student must:

  • actively participate in the GEOMED by giving an oral presentation,
  • send an essay about one page (PDF) describing his/her research and in particular its connections to spatial epidemiology (past achievements, past conferences, future plans),
  • include a letter of reference (PDF, scanned copy of) signed by the supervisor, head of department or similar authority that confirms the student status.

Abstract should be submitted through the standard conference abstract submission form. Essays and reference letters should be sent via this Google form. The deadline to submit the application and related documents is March 8, 2024. Decisions on the student travel grants will be made by the Scientific Committee based on the submitted documents.
