Within the department of Applied Research (AR), we offer you practice-oriented research and consultancy in the field of road safety, mobility, behaviour, road design, tourism and autonomy. The Applied Research activities form a bridge between scientific research and consultancy.

You can always rely on science-based solutions and a driven and dedicated team of transportation experts. In addition, the use of our own developed products and tools is another key advantage that we offer.
In order to provide solid answers to your mobility questions, we finetune our research method to each particular situation. The Applied Research department therefore carries out different types of projects, such as driving simulator research, survey research and risk and evaluation studies. Furthermore, we analyse various specific target groups, such as children, elderly, and people with disabilities. The AR team also valorizes tools and products that are being developed within IMOB, such as the driving simulator, Route2School, ParkAgent and Viamigo.
