Interreg Meuse-Rhine: small call for projects

What?

There is a new chance for organisations with a strong cross-border idea. This call for projects is small and focused, with a total budget of EUR 7 million EU funding.

That means only a limited number of projects can be selected. And not every good idea will fit this call, as it is only open to projects that bring innovation into practice in the fields of

• circular economy: The programme is looking for practical cross-border initiatives that help speed up the move towards a greener economy that uses materials and energy more wisely.
• Einstein Telescope: The focus is not on the scientific side itself, but on the innovation opportunities around it. The programme is looking for projects that help SMEs take part in the development of key technologies connected to the Einstein Telescope. These innovations may also create new uses in other sectors and applications. 

This is not a capitalization call. That means you can only apply with new project ideas, not expand on existing, granted ones. The budget only allows for a limited number of projects. Only projects that strongly match the two themes should apply.

Projects can run for a maximum of 24 months.
The latest possible project end date is 30 September 2029.

The maximum EU funding rate is 60%. 
Only cost option 3 can be used. This means that you will make use of the simplified cost calculations. For more information, see the Cost Catalogue

Application?

This call is planned as a one-step application procedure. That means applicants will submit a full application straight away, not first a project idea and then a second step. This should speed up the process and help keep the overall timing short.

The application has to be submitted in all programme languages and in English.

If your application is submitted on time, quality will be the key factor in the final selection.

Given this is a complex program budget-wise, state aid-wise and given the documents that need to be added in the application, we urge you to contact research@uhasselt.be as soon as possible if you want to apply. 

Please keep in mind the set deadlines to inform research@uhasselt.be about your intent to apply, minimum 7 working days before the deadline if you are participating as a partner and minimum 15 working days if you are participating as a coordinator.
