Environmental change ecology and microbiology

Expertise

The ECEM group is active in experimental and modelling research on impacts of environmental change on biogeochemical cycles in terrestrial ecosystems from local to global scales, and on developing microbiome-based pathways to mitigate these impacts. The research of the group embraces topics of microbial ecology, mycorrhiza, carbon and nitrogen cycles, bioremediation and micromaterials. The group operates the state-of-the-art research facilities Macroscale Ecotron, RAU Ecotron and Mycotron, parts of the international research infrastructures AnaEE ERIC/ AnaEE Belgium.
