This newsletter provides an overview of all upcoming activities, either organised specifically for postdocs or for postdocs and PhD students combined, and links to other potentially interesting events or information.

Turn your training idea into reality!
Call for Bottom-Up initiatives 2027
Recent feedback from our PhD survey highlighted a clear demand for more discipline-specific and advanced training opportunities. Do you see a gap in the current training offer or have an idea for a workshop, course, seminar or other initiative that would benefit junior researchers? Through the Flemish Government's funding programme, the Doctoral Schools can support initiatives that strengthen training, career development and the international orientation of young researchers. PhD students and postdocs are especially encouraged to take the lead and submit proposals, with the support of a UHasselt professor. Collaborative initiatives involving other Flemish universities are strongly encouraged.
Applications for activities taking place in 2027 can be submitted to doctoralschools@uhasselt.be by 27 October 2026. Full details and the application template are available here.
