What?

The aim of this call is to devise, elaborate, test, implement and connect concrete, measurable and visible solutions at the level of value chains and ecosystems in the construction and manufacturing industry. These solutions must make a visible and measurable contribution to the proposed reduction of our material footprint and greenhouse gas emissions. These are, therefore, ambitious projects that can define this ambition and translate it into a plan of action.

The project is implemented according to the methodology of Living Labs for system innovation, i.e. temporary broad networks and projects that actively seek and test a solution to one or more systemic challenges at the level of a specific value chain and ecosystem within the domains of circular construction and manufacturing. The focus is on connecting, deepening, broadening and accelerating to enable the scale-up of circular solutions in the manufacturing/machinery and chemicals and plastics sectors.

As each project will require a different approach, it is envisaged that a wide range of actions and activities will be possible. These may include, e.g., one or more of the activities from the non-exhaustive list that can be found on the VLAIO website.

The maximum funding that can be awarded is € 500.000 with a project maximum duration of 2 years. Depending on the type of partner the funding rate is 100%, 75% or 60%.

Who?

The application is submitted by a broad and diverse partnership of at least 3 partners. To develop this partnership, VLAIO provides support.

The partnership can be composed of various actors such as authorities, research institutions, sector federations, non-profit organisations, financial institutions,..... The composition depends on the challenge that will be deployed and the value chain or ecosystem associated with it.

Within this partnership, it is important to think carefully about the different roles of the partners: applicant, project partner, subcontractor. These different roles are further explained in the manual.
