What?

A PhD Fellowship fundamental research allows young researchers to prepare a PhD, and to develop into independent scientists with a critical mindset.

• Fundamental research in the context of a PhD fellowship stands for challenging and innovative research (at PhD level).
• A PhD Fellowship strategic basic research (SB) allows young researchers to prepare a PhD, and to develop into strategically thinking and innovation-oriented scientists.

The submission deadline will be 1 March 2023 (5 PM). More information on these grants can be found on the FWO website:

• Tips on grant writing and motivation statement writing (7 December; 09:00-12:00AM)
  • If you wish to participate we kindly ask you to register via the following form. Deadline for registration is 23 November 2022
• A workshop on how to make your motivation statement stand out (registration via this form)
• A workshop on writing a data management plan (registration via this form)
• Interview training for applicants invited to the interview (second half of August 2023)

Participation in the support program is free of charge but registration is mandatory.
