ERA-MIN3 is a global, innovative and flexible pan-European network of 24 European and non-European research funding organisations, aiming to continue strengthening the mineral raw materials community through the coordination of research and innovation programmes on non-fuel and non-food raw materials (metallic, construction, and industrial minerals). The ERA-MIN Joint Call 2023 is the first additional call of the ERA-NET Cofund ERA-MIN3, which counts with an indicative budget of €12.6 Million.
The scope of the 2023 Call is needs-driven research addressing three segments of non-fuel, non-food raw materials: metallic minerals; construction materials; industrial minerals. The five main call topics, are:This call for proposals is aimed at all actors in the raw materials value chain, including universities, research institutes, companies, non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and public authorities that can contribute to the objectives of ERA-MIN3 and who meet the eligibility criteria, as well as national/regional regulations.
A consortium must consist of at least three project partners eligible and requesting funding from the participating Funding Organisations of at least three different countries whereof at least half of the partners in a consortium belong countries participating in the Call.
Researchers can participate in this call via the Electronic Submission System available on the ERA-MIN website. Funding will come via FWO or VLAIO.
Projects have a duration of max. 36 months.
FWO
Via Fundamental Research Projects or via Strategic Basic Research (SBO) Projects.
SBO: Innovative research which, if scientifically successful, will create prospects for economic or societal applications (e.g., a new generation of products, processes and/or services).
Maximum of € 350.000 per project with a funding rate of 100%.
VLAIO
Hasselt University can not receive funding without the participation of a Flemish company.
Via Research Projects or via Development Project.
Research projects: carrying out ground-breaking research with an intrinsically high risk, which in the long term can potentially lead to a significant positive impact for both the company and for Flanders.
Development Projects: aim to support enterprises in developing products that could positively affect their business.
Maximum of € 500.000 per project.

Please note that after submitting a part of the proposal, the data in this proposal cannot be modified anymore. Make sure that before submitting all parts that the budget is final and that everything in the online portal is consistent with the content of the completed templates.
Only OBI is allowed to submit the part for the "kennisinstelling", as they have a mandate to do so.
