FWO Weave with Slovenia (ARIS as Lead Agency) 2024

What?

The Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) and ARIS Slovenia have launched their Weave call.  This means that Slovenian-Flemish consortia can submit their joint project proposal at ARIS as Lead Agency until the 12th of January 2024 in the ARIS call.

Slovenian and Flemish researchers can submit a bilateral research project.

Projects submitted within the call with ARIS Slovenia as Lead Agency (deadline: 12/01/2024) will be evaluated in 2024 and, when successful, will start at Flemish side on 1st of October 2024. As a consequence, this type of ARIS-FWO projects are taken into account at the Flemish side for the maximum of 2 projects:

• For which one can act as (co-)supervisor(-spokesperson) in application round 2024
• That one can have registered in his/her name as (co-)supervisor(-spokesperson) on 01/01/2025.

Project duration: maximum 3 years

Who?

Researchers eligible at the FWO can submit together with their Slovenian partner a bilateral research project to ARIS. ARIS will act as the Lead Agency and as such be responsible for the entire administrative procedure and scientific evaluation.

Application?

In addition to the submission to ARIS, the Flemish supervisor-spokesperson needs to do an administrative submission to the FWO through the E-portal, using the Specific application form ‘Research project WEAVE (FWO acts as Partner Agency)’, no later than 7 working days after the ARIS-deadline where the complete research proposal was submitted. Currently, the FWO application form (FWO acts as Partner Agency) is only open for ARIS Slovenia, there are no other Weave calls.

Important: in the tab ‘project’ of the application form ‘Research project WEAVE (FWO acts as Partner Agency)’ you must upload the complete and identical application (not only the project description) as submitted to ARIS Slovenia (PDF format). Furthermore, make sure that the main applicants at Flemish and non-Flemish sides as well as the requested Flemish budget submitted to ARIS Slovenia are identical to what is being submitted to the FWO in the administrative submission. Discrepancies in these data might lead to ineligibility of a proposal.
