Critical Junior Scholars Network invites dr. Sigrid Wallaert and Prof. Sibo Kanobana - The politics of knowledge and language
The Critical Junior Scholars (CJS) Network is hosting another session, and this time we are exploring language, power, and resistance. Together with our speakers, we will look into the power of language and knowledge, how they are tied to inequalities, and how we can challenge dominant forms of knowledge production in our own work.
We are very excited to welcome these speakers to our next session:
  • Dr. Sigrid Wallaert (UGent) will present her work on epistemic injustice from a feminist perspective.
  • Prof. Dr. Sibo R. Kanobana (Open University) will present his work on language ideology and racism.
The inter-university CJS Network is open to all junior researchers who are (interested in) using critical theory or methodology in their work.

At the start of the session, lunch will be provided by the network. Afterwards, at 13:00, we will start with the presentations.

Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to join for drinks. This will give us the chance to get to know each other in a more informal manner.
