We kindly invite you to join the ‘Meet the Jury’ seminar, featuring an international speaker to discuss her research on Durable materials for PV module design : A technology and market perspective

This seminar will be given by:

  • Dr Theresa M. Barnes (National Renewable Energy Laboratory)

Dr. Teresa Barnes is a leading researcher in photovoltaic (PV) materials and reliability at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL). She is the principal investigator and director of the DuraMAT Consortium, a research initiative focused on module materials, durability, and performance across the PV value chain.

This seminar explores how materials science, accelerated testing, and large-scale field-performance analytics must come together to enable the durable and cost-effective photovoltaic (PV) modules essential for terawatt-scale energy deployment. Building on insights from NREL and the DuraMAT Consortium, the session examines the evolving needs of both industry and research institutions as PV technologies mature. Emphasis is placed on translating reliability science into practical design and manufacturing strategies, understanding how emerging cell technologies interact with encapsulants, backsheets, and interconnect materials, and aligning durability research with the performance and economic requirements of the rapidly expanding global PV market.

This is a Meet the Jury seminar. Additional information on how to apply for these seminars can be found here.
