Do you sometimes think about working abroad, but do you lack the necessary information in order to take concrete steps? Or are you a non-Belgian researcher interested in staying (and working) in Belgium in the future?
Then read part 1.
Do you have any queries about your residence in Limburg like housing or visa? Or would you like more information about the international community and to get in touch with peers and locals?
Then read part 2.
A consultant from EURES will come to Hasselt University to give you individual advice on labour mobility. The advice will not be specifically targeted at working in academia, but rather at labour mobility in general.
In addition to general advice, you can ask specific questions. Please prepare them in advance (and already list them when registering, if possible).
Importantly, although Eures has been set up to provide support in European labour mobility, the consultant will also be able to provide information about mobility beyond the European borders. There will be individual timeslots of 30 minutes each.
ABOUT EURES
The purpose of EURES is to provide information, advice and recruitment/placement (job-matching) services for the benefit of workers and employers as well as any citizen wishing to benefit from the principle of the free movement of persons. EURES has a human network of more than 850 EURES advisers that are in daily contact with jobseekers and employers across Europe.
In European cross-border regions, EURES has an important role to play in providing information about and helping to solve all sorts of problems related to cross-border commuting that workers and employers may experience. Set up in 1993, EURES is a co-operation network between the European Commission and the Public Employment Services of the EEA Member States (The EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and other partner organisations. Switzerland also takes part in EURES co-operation. The joint resources of the EURES member and partner organisations provide a solid basis for the EURES network to offer high quality services for both workers and employers.
The Manager of the Expat Centre Limburg will visit Hasselt University to offer individual consultations and answer your questions. As the Flemish government’s mandated International House for Limburg, embedded within POM Limburg, we combine official guidance with regional expertise. We provide accurate information on residence and practical matters, as well as insight into career and innovation opportunities in Limburg and across Flanders.
You will also have the opportunity to connect with the international community and expand your professional and social network within Flanders and the wider cross-border region, including the Netherlands and Germany. The consultation is free of charge and offers practical guidance for your continued stay in Belgium.
Note: Please submit your questions in the registration form when registering. The more information you share about your profile or current situation, the more focused your 30-minute consultation will be.
