On 12 May, UHasselt alumni gathered in Istanbul as part of the Belgian economic mission to Turkey. A joint alumni evening took place at the Belgian Consulate General, bringing together alumni from Flemish universities who are currently living and working in Turkey.
The networking event offered an opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni, exchange experiences and build new professional connections. In an international setting focused on collaboration and knowledge exchange, the gathering also provided a meaningful moment to strengthen ties with one’s alma mater.
Hasselt University was represented by Vice-Rector Ken Haenen. Throughout the evening, alumni came together in an informal atmosphere, creating space for conversation and connection. Flemish Minister-President Matthias Diependaele was also present during the economic mission in Istanbul.
As a university, we value staying connected with our alumni, wherever they are in the world. We therefore look back with great pleasure on this international gathering.
