Maarten Theuwis obtained his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Hasselt University (Belgium) in 2024. For his bachelor’s thesis in the DSOS group, he investigated the synthesis of donor–acceptor conjugated block copolymers for single-component organic solar cells. He subsequently earned his master’s degree in Chemistry from KU Leuven in 2026, graduating summa cum laude with congratulations from the Board of Examiners. His master’s thesis, conducted in the LOSA research group under the supervision of Prof. Wim Dehaen, focused on the synthesis of saturated isothiazole-based cyclin G-associated kinase inhibitors. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in the DSOS group at Hasselt University, where his research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of near-infrared organic absorbers for efficient photon energy upconversion.
