Balancing the Belgian electricity system for maximal use of Renewable Energy generation by a Grid Injection Limit Algorithm and optimal Battery deployment. (Research)

To achieve the Paris climate targets, the use of renewable energy (wind and sun) is necessary for electricity production in Belgium. To avoid a large adaptation cost to the electricity grid, when using these variable production sources, a detailed study is carried out into network injection algorithms and the optimization of battery capacity. This will lead to a cost reduction for Belgian electricity production and distribution in combination with a significant reduction in Belgian CO2 emissions.
