Summerschool: Methods and strategies to monitor and manage human impact on urbanized protected areas (UPA) (Education)

Abstract

This is an interdisciplinary, international summerschool in which PhD students from different participating disciplines (Sciences, Transportation sciences, Applied Economic Sciences, Law and Architecture, Tourism) are trained on methods and strategies to monitor and manage human impact on urbanized protected areas (UPA). During this PhD summerschool students work in interdisciplinary teams on a NPHK case related to management problems. They are supported by keynote speakers, followed by methodological introduction sessions, and fieldwork and analysis sessions. Senior researchers provide feedback to ensure active participation and learning. The summerschool ends with an event where students present their projects to an international audience of relevant stakeholders.
